Links

Here are links to the plugins we discussed at the September Mini Clinic. Most of these companies have tutorials on using their plugins.
FREE
Attention Mac users: Many plugins will only work in CS5 when it is run in 32-bit mode.  To run CS5 in 32-bit mode, right click or control click on the application icon and choose “Get Info”; there is a checkbox for opening in 32-bit mode. Check this option and restart Photoshop.
Windows Users:  Some plugins will work on a 64-bit operating system but must be installed into and run from the 32-bit version of CS4 or CS5, located in Program FIles(X86) folder. If you are launching Photoshop using a shortcut you will also need one for the 32-bit application. Installing the products into the 32-bit plug-ins folder will not enable them in the 64-bit version of the application.
So remember if you install a plugin but it doesn't seem to be available try starting Photoshop in 32 bit.

Aperture Foundation
http://www.aperture.org/
About:
Aperture—a not-for-profit foundation dedicated to advancing photography in all its
forms—was founded in 1952 by six gifted individuals: photographers Ansel Adams,
Dorothea Lange, Barbara Morgan, and Minor White; historian Beaumont Newhall;
and writer/curator Nancy Newhall. With scant resources, these visionary artists created
a new periodical, Aperture magazine, to serve photographers and photography
enthusiasts worldwide. As the medium flourished, so too did Aperture Foundation,
expanding to include the subsequent publication of books (over four hundred to date);
limited-edition photographs and portfolios; artist lectures and symposia; and a traveling
exhibitions program that since its inception has presented over one hundred exhibitions
at major museums and cultural institutions throughout the United States and
abroad.
Aperture is committed to presenting new and unpublished work by well-known and
emerging artists from all over the world, fostering an ever-expanding community of
shared interest at a time when the scope and concerns of photography’s impact continues
to evolve.
Aperture recognizes that history has proven how powerful photography can be in revealing
injustices, often provoking controversy and inspiring action and change. We
measure Aperture's success, in part, by the depth and expression of its social conscience,
and we continue to be a forum for those photographers who are dedicated to
considering the concerns of our time.
